THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

Just starting to see some CAULIFLOWER from up near Swan Hill and some more BROCCOLI from down in Pakenham, and these cooler nights should help on the brassicas. A little rain would help too.

Two frosts are predicted up this way over the next week, so expecting to see an end to Ronalds TOMATO - still late flushes coming from Gippsland though. CUCUMBER almost done, however.

And RED CAPSICUM is still happy with plenty from Koo Wee Rup and Mildura.

This week we should see CELERY return to the Juice Boxes after a long absence.

RAINBOW CHARD and SPRING ONION are in the boxes this week - both from Mornington and Monbulk growers.

SWEET CORN is doing superbly - delicious cobs from Mornington and Gippsland growers.

Biodynamic BEETROOT from Darren at Vortex are being picked fresh, and soon we’ll see the start of his Winter crop with SWEDE and PARSNIP expected in the next month.

ZUCCHINI from Yarra Valley holding up well after our local crop finished weeks ago.

We were expecting FIGS last week, and had everyone excited - and then just like that we were told the season finished early after just a week. However, we’re keeping our fingers crossed we get another round.

STRAWBERRIES are back in numbers after a slow week last week - we should have plenty for everyone this week.

APPLES in the boxes will be Summer Pink or Fuji - both from Red Hill. And PEARS are between Beurre Bosc and Packham.

BANANA back in price to $4.90kg (inflation busting:)

And the new (late) season PLUMS is September Candy variety - slightly tart, red skin orange flesh.
