The season changeover continues with parsnip and swede arriving on the scene, whilst strawberries, capsicum, eggplant and tomato slow.
Delicious leek and biodynamic spring onions are perfect this time of year - combined with new season root veg, spuds, and sweet potato.
Almost time for some soup recipes - this week we have a chowder recipe just to ease into it :)
Eat well,
Graham

If you’re looking for ONIONS this week, we have a few options for you - new season LEEK from Colac, SPRING ONION from Inverleigh, and biodynamic RED or BROWN ONIONS from Geelong.
More CAULIFLOWER starting to arrive from down the Peninsula, whilst BROCCOLI is a little short - just a small amount coming down this week from biodynamic growers up north - we may have some BROCCOLINI from Vic growers in the boxes.
New season PARSNIP and SWEDE arriving this week - both from biodynamic market gardens down near Geelong. Expect plenty of root veg in the boxes this week as we move into the new season.
BEETROOT and SWEET POTATO are other root veg that will feature heavily in the boxes - both excellent right now.
And new season DUTCH CREAM from Bullarto near Daylesford are our pick of the spuds.
For leafy greens, LETTUCE is a little scarce, with just a small pick from Monbulk and Mornington.
FENNEL from Colac are pretty small, so packing two for one this week - and without the fronds.
CAPSICUM starting to slow - still some red caps from Mildura, but will see more multi coloured caps from local growers as the plants slow down.
No slowing down for SWEET CORN, with plenty from three different Vic growers in Gippsland.
For APPLES we have the new season PINK LADY and GOLDEN DELICIOUS joining us.
Adam’s STRAWBERRIES will be slowing from here if the cooler weather next week eventuates.
And we’ll have to wait a little longer for AVOCADO for some new growers to come through to see a better price, and better quality.
For local and in season fruit though, you can’t go past QUINCE, from biodynamic orchards near Shepparton - our favourite fruit of the Autumn, eating it every day with breakfast - and dessert :)
