This week is all about the root vegetables and greens - parsnip, beetroot and turnips - along with spinach bunches, black kale and mixed salad.
Frosty mornings and leafy greens are made for each other. On the other hand, the last of the summer veg is not so much of a fan of the cold.
Expect more brassicas, greens and roots - and less berries, capsicum, tomato and cucumber from here on.
Eat well,
Graham
PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

Hoping our preferred BEANS grower comes to market this week - last weeks weren’t the biodynamic Mildura pick we had been expecting - and some growers not coming to market regularly due to crew shortages and lighter harvests.
SNOW PEAS from Monbulk and Nyah should have some more life in them, with these warmer weeks helping on a late flush.
CAULIFLOWER is starting to arrive from a few different Victorian growers, so expect in the boxes a little more regularly whilst BROCCOLI is slow. So too for CABBAGE which coming from Colac.
Large one kilo SWEET POTATO are great value for sweet potato lovers. And new season fresh BEETROOT with their leaves just starting from Swan Hill - also expecting the Gold Beetroot variety this week.
Biodynamic PARSNIP from Inverleigh and TURNIP from Colac are other root veg that will dominate boxes, now that CAPSICUM and TOMATO and other summer veg start to finish.
Greens for the boxes will be bunches of SPINACH and LETTUCE.
We have been considering including ENDIVE but understand it's not the most popular veg - so if there are any Endive lovers let us know and we’ll see if we can bring some in.
ZUCCHINI has a little more life in them, even as capsicum and tomato start to finish up.
For fruit, we continue to experience short amounts of BANANA from up north - and they are not getting the usual time to ripen before we can send them out. Not sure if they’ll be in the boxes until supply picks up again.
Plenty APPLES and PEARS in the meantime, and some new season Vic KIWI will add some flavour to the boxes.
Packham PEARS are great value this week, with a grower special - these beauties continue from biodynamic orchards in Merrigum.
Small POMEGRANATE from Mildura are a nice addition - just $1.50 each.
STRAWBERRIES didn’t make it last week - hopeful again for this week, but we wont know until later in the week - and this will most likely be the last week for them given the cold mornings have really started.
