Week 19 - Biodynamic Parsnip, Dutch Cream Potato, Swede, Pumpkin, Cos Lettuce and Prickly Cucumber

Week 19 - Biodynamic Parsnip, Dutch Cream Potato, Swede, Pumpkin, Cos Lettuce and Prickly Cucumber

These mild nights are keeping the beans and strawberries happy - both are having an extending Vic season.

But the root veg aren't holding back - there’s plenty with swede, parsnip, kohlrabi, and of course local carrots and spuds - all appearing in this week's boxes.

Eat well,
Graham

PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

Greens in the boxes this week will be BOK CHOY, a chinese green from growers down the Peninsula, and COS LETTUCE from Monbulk.

For the Mixed Choice boxes, we’ll have a small amount of CUCUMBER from up north - a new variety called Prickly Cucumber (it’ll make sense when you see it).

Plenty of root veg of course, with biodynamic PARSNIP from Inverleigh continuing, and SWEDE from Tassie is looking very good.

A nice mild Autumn flush of BEANS from Hamilton allows us to include them in the Vic boxes again this week.

And BROCCOLI from down Gippsland may be slowing a little between picks, but we’ll also have plenty in the boxes whilst we wait for CAULIFLOWER to get started again.

For fruit, new season NAVEL ORANGES are pretty good value this week, and will make an appearance in most boxes.

Vanilla PERSIMMON will have one more week if you’d like to try them out.

PEARS coming in three varieties - packham, beurre bosc and corella - all biodynamic Vic growers.

And KIWI from Healesville looks to have got going with plenty now arriving, and we should see in some of the boxes in the coming weeks.
