Week 19 - Pak Choy, Bullhorn Capsicum, biodynamic Parsnip, local Potato, new season Citrus and last days of Strawberries

We’re seeing more root veg arriving as the cold sets in - this week Parsnip from biodynamic growers near Geelong join the boxes for the first of the season.

Still plenty of beans and capsicum, but nearing the last days of local strawberries - any day now.

Eat well,

Graham

PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

CHINESE GREENS will be the greens for this week's box, tender bunches of Pak Choy from Baxter in Melbourne's south.

Biodynamic CAULIFLOWER is always a favourite now the brassicas are starting.

And thankfully we still have summer veg of Gippsland CAPSICUM and northern CUCUMBER available for you; combined with LETTUCE from the Peninsula and Monbulk.

New season biodynamic PARSNIP from Geelong is a winter staple - now available from this week. Also will have TURNIP from Colac for the Victorian small boxes.

Local DUTCH CREAM from Bullarto and SEBAGO from Thorpdale are your spuds.

And BRUSSEL SPROUTS from Nyah should be arriving in the next week or two.

The changing seasons mean Daylesford STRAWBERRIES are in their last days, but this sunshine has given the season extra life.

ORANGES are yet to arrive, but must be any day now. MANDARINS are a little short but should see more over the coming weeks.

In the meantime PEARS and APPLES from Shepparton and Red Hill are your reliable seasonal fruit.
