Here come the root vegetables :)
New season biodynamic parsnip and turnip from the west of Victoria, along with local carrots and beetroot from Swan Hill.
We’re seeing the finish of the summer season veg, but still great value on capsicum, zucchini and even corn.
Eat well,
Karim

GOLD BEETROOT from Swan Hill is a sweeter, more delicate cousin of the classic red — milder in flavour with none of the earthy intensity, and it won't stain your chopping board either. Roast whole in foil until tender, slice into salads, or serve alongside the regular red for a beautiful combination on the plate.
BROCCOLI from the Mornington Peninsula and biodynamic growers up north continues strongly — multiple growers picking well right now, meaning great quality and consistent supply. A reliable box favourite; needs nothing more than a quick steam and a squeeze of lemon.
Gippsland CAPSICUM is still coming through in good supply — red, green and the occasional Yellow BULLHORN variety from Shepparton. The cold nights will slow things down soon, so these are very much in their last local weeks — enjoy them whilst they last.
Organic CARROTS from Bullarto near Daylesford are a box staple we never take for granted — Adams has been growing for us for many years and the quality speaks for itself. Sweet, firm and full of colour, the perfect base for any winter soup or tray bake.
Biodynamic CAULIFLOWER is always a highlight once brassica season gets going — tight, dense heads arriving from Queensland and Koo Wee Rup in Gippsland. Expect it regularly in the boxes from here as the cold truly sets in.
CELERY is back in the boxes — halves arriving from Koo Wee Rup in Gippsland, and a great size right now. A winter workhorse that earns its place in soups, stews and stocks; and the leaves are just as useful as the stalks so don't throw them away.
CUCUMBER from up north is still making it into the boxes — the local Victorian season has wrapped up but northern growers are keeping supply going for now. Enjoy them whilst they last; once these finish it'll be root veg and brassicas all the way.
Crisp BABY COS from the Mornington Peninsula is in excellent condition right now — those cool, frosty mornings bring out the best in leafy greens. Tender, sweet hearts that are great in a classic Caesar or simply dressed with a good vinaigrette.
New season biodynamic PARSNIP from Inverleigh near Geelong is a winter staple we look forward to every year — freshly dug from Darren's biodynamic plots and full of flavour at this time of year. Roast alongside potato and pumpkin, or blitz into a silky soup with a little cream.
Small SWEET POTATO from Queensland are exceptional value this week. Best roasted whole or in chunks alongside the parsnip and pumpkin also in the boxes — a natural combination for this time of year.
ZUCCHINI from Mildura just keeps going, and a great price this week — one of the last summer vegetables still producing in any real volume. Getting a little smaller as the season winds down, but flavour is good and we're including them whilst supply holds up.
Biodynamic APPLES from Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula are the fruit of the moment — FUJI, GRANNY, GOLDEN DELICIOUS and PINK LADY all moving through the boxes right now. The Red Hill autumn harvest is always one of the highlights of this time of year.
Biodynamic PEARS from orchards in Shepparton and Merrigum are your reliable seasonal fruit — PACKHAM and BEURRE BOSC are the main varieties moving through, with CORELLA a maybe. The cool nights are doing wonders for the flavour right now.
