BEETROOT from Swan Hill arrives this week with their vibrant LEAVES. Milder and sweeter than standard bunched beets, these are a versatile favorite. Use the roots for a sweet roast or vibrant winter salad, and don't discard the leafy greens—they are fantastic sautéed lightly with a bit of garlic and olive oil.
BROCCOLI from northern growers in Queensland continues strongly, with multiple growers picking well right now, meaning great quality and consistent supply. A reliable box favourite; needs nothing more than a quick steam and a squeeze of lemon.
Organic CARROTS from Bullarto near Daylesford are a box staple we never take for granted. Sweet, firm, and full of colour, they are the perfect base for any winter soup, stock, or comforting tray bake.
Biodynamic CAULIFLOWER is always a highlight once brassica season gets going, with tight, dense heads arriving from Queensland. Expect it regularly in the boxes from here as the autumn cold truly sets in.
SWEDE from Geelong makes a welcome appearance as the cooler weather demands heartier cooking. This often-overlooked winter root is beautifully sweet and earthy when roasted alongside potatoes and carrots, or mashed with plenty of butter and black pepper.
CUCUMBER from up north is still making it into the boxes. The local Victorian season has wrapped up, but northern Queensland growers are keeping supply going for now to keep your fresh salads crisp.
Small, crisp LETTUCE from Baxter on the Mornington Peninsula is in excellent condition right now. Those cool, frosty Victorian mornings bring out the best in leafy greens, resulting in tender, sweet hearts that pair beautifully with a simple vinaigrette.
POTATOES from the rich volcanic soils of Daylesford are your ultimate cold-weather companion this week. Firm, reliable, and earthy, they are ready for mashing, roasting, or bulking out hearty weeknight stews.
BROWN ONIONS from Queensland are the essential, aromatic backbone of winter cooking. High in quality and perfectly cured, they are ready to be slowly caramelised as the base for your soups, stews, and Sunday roasts.
Golden PUMPKIN from Mildura is back to warm up your kitchen. Dense, sweet, and deeply coloured, it’s at its absolute best right now for blitzing into a classic, velvety winter soup or chopping into large wedges for a slow roast.
Fresh SPINACH from Pearcedale on the Western Port Highway is looking exceptionally vibrant. The cool nights are keeping these tender leaves crisp and sweet—perfect for a quick toss into a hot pasta, wilted into morning eggs, or enjoyed fresh in a salad.
Small SWEET POTATO from Queensland are exceptional value this week, giving you a generous portion to play with. Best roasted whole or in chunks alongside the pumpkin and beetroot—a natural flavour combination for this time of year.
ZUCCHINI from Mildura just keeps going—one of the last summer vegetables still producing in any real volume. They are getting a little smaller as the season winds down, but the flavour is excellent and we're including them while supply holds up.
Biodynamic APPLES from Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula are the fruit of the moment, moving freshly through the boxes. The Red Hill autumn harvest is always one of the absolute highlights of this time of year.
BANANAS from tropical Queensland bring a welcome splash of northern sunshine to the box. Sweet, creamy, and reliable, they are the perfect quick energy snack or breakfast topper for chilly mornings.
