New season CARROTS from Daylesford are about 3-4 weeks away. In the meantime, Tassie carrots may be short for orders.
New season RED ONIONS from Colac has just started and in this week's Vic boxes.
ROMA TOMATO from Koo Wee Rup will most likely be the tomato for the boxes, with harvest from Inverleigh slowing, and the Daylesford season still yet to kick off. Still, it's looking to be a good season for local tomato growers.
Plenty of ZUCCHINI from Ronald in Campbelltown, and some from biodynamic gardens in Inverleigh - Ronald will have small amounts of YELLOW SQUASH also.
New season FENNEL kicked off this week - looking lovely and clean - from Koo Wee Rup.
For Vic boxes, we have biodynamic green CAPSICUM from Mildura, and for Mixed Choice we have BULLHORNS from up north.
BROCCOLI from Pakenham is excellent, although up in price a lot since the end of last year - small amounts of Bairnsdale BROCCOLINI bunches are available now too.
BEANS will be limited this week - although we should see new flushes in coming weeks - consecutive hot days do disrupt picking, but there should be plenty coming.
BASIL from Monbulk is back - and more greens are coming this week, with SILVERBEET from Colac and ICEBERG LETTUCE from Mornington the greens for the boxes.
ROCKMELON from Swan Hill arrives to start the melon season - nice large halves in the Vic boxes.
MEYER LEMONS, the green variety will be our lemon for a little while.
Biodynamic NASHI PEARS from near Shepparton start this week also - plenty of new season pears coming through, new season apples a little slower to get going.
RYAN AVOCADO has a couple of weeks, and then we could be without (or short) avocado for a little while. This variety is grown in Mildura, and similar to the smooth Fuerte.
New season seedless GRAPES from Robinvale - two varieties this week, the Flame Seedless (large red) and the Menindee Seedless (white and small).
