CAULIFLOWER is starting up again, with growers down Mornington way starting to pick in earnest - plus there's plenty from up north coming down now - expect them in the boxes over the coming weeks.
BROCCOLI too is going strong - growers from the Peninsula, Gippsland and near Bairnsdale all having nice crops right now.
And CABBAGE has come back a lot in price - perhaps a little smaller in size than the last couple weeks but nice nevertheless.
New season OAK LETTUCE from Monbulk, and new season RADISH from Peninsula look exceptional; leafy greens really enjoying the cold mornings.
We should see KALE in the boxes in a couple of weeks time, excellent biodynamic crops coming from Inverleigh. This week it will be bunches of SPINACH from Pearcedale.
Root veg also love the colder nights, with PARSNIP from near Geelong and KOHLRABI and BEETROOT from Swan Hill, as well as local CARROTS from Bullarto all benefitting.
Also from Bullarto, new season SEBAGO spuds are having their first pick this week.
A late flush of BEANS from Bairnsdale are being hand picked for the boxes - and we’re including them for this week as they are sure to be finishing soon.
This week's TOMATO also a late flush of polytunnels from Labertouche in Gippsland.
For fruit, FUJI apples and PACKHAM pears are our preferred picks. NAVEL ORANGES are going well, and KIWI are ripening nicely.
Still a small amount of POMEGRANATE for another couple of weeks, and PERSIMMON finished now.
