The citrus arriving is always a wonderful feature of the Winter season - all that sunshine stored up over Summer and dished out to us in the coldest months.

This week's boxes will feature cara cara oranges, navels, mandarins and new season tangelo - all from growers in Mildura, Shepparton and Swan Hill.

THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

Local CARROTS from Daylesford look to be finishing up pretty soon - we’ll have their large size and juicers for a couple of weeks and then that should be it until next year. Then Tassie carrots for a little while.

GARLIC season has also crossed over with the local Purple variety finished, and Elephant starting from this week.

From Inverleigh we have fresh CELERIAC, and large PARSNIP root veg from biodynamic market gardens.

For greens in the boxes, SILVERBEET and BABY COS LETTUCE from Labertouche in Gippsland.

CAULIFLOWER aplenty, and in the boxes again, whilst BROCCOLI is going through a short period. The Vic cauliflower from Mornington is on the smaller size, so you’ll see whole ones in the large Vic boxes.

Both BUTTERNUT and JAP PUMPKIN are from Mildura, whilst ONIONS are from up north and some from Gippsland. Both will be in the boxes this week.

ZUCCHINI is soon to be finished - we have Lebanese variety for the boxes and a small amount available for orders.

For fruit, citrus is featured heavily in the boxes, with Mildura NAVEL ORANGES and CARA CARA are prime picks.

New season TANGELO from Swan Hill starts this week. MANDARINS are also from Swan Hill and now available in 1kg nets.

RED GRAPEFRUIT and BLOOD ORANGES are also excellent and worth trying before their short season finishes.
