Both sides of the bay are picking excellent produce right now - with onions, celeriac, leek, parsnip, beetroot from the west; and kale, lettuce, spinach, fennel, cabbage from the east.
And from local growers closer to home, we still have carrots, potatoes and turnips for you.
Eat well,
Graham
PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

Biodynamic root vegetables from Inverleigh near Geelong are a staple in the boxes through Winter. Darren is picking BEETROOT, CELERIAC and PARSNIP for the boxes this week.
What to do with CELERIAC? We use it a lot in soups, mash with potato, roast it in cubes, or our favourite is thin 2mm slices quick fried and salted for a snack with beers 🙂
Other root veg like TURNIP returns from Colac farms.
RADISH we spruiked last week didn't eventuate unfortunately - hoping it will return in a couple of weeks once Joe crop gets a decent size.
BROCCOLINI from Bairnsdale returns this week, whilst BROCCOLI from Mornington is slowly recovering from some cold weeks.
For leafy greens, black KALE from Baxter is the leafy greens for the boxes, along with BABY COS which has started well again; and SPINACH from Pearcedale also happy to have some warmer days last week.
FENNEL will be slow or absent for a little while, as a new crop catches up - we may have a small amount from Colac or up north.
LEEK from Colac will be our “onion” in this week's boxes - the other great option are biodynamic RED ONIONS from near Geelong.
And for the Mixed Choice boxes, we are benefitting from nice weather up north, with great winter value for ZUCCHINI, CAPSICUM and EGGPLANT all in the same week.
Fruit is citrus and apples - pretty much - with Imperial MANDARINS and NAVEL ORANGES from Mildura; and PINK LADY apples from Red Hill in this week's boxes.
Excellent value for RED GRAPEFRUIT and MEYER LEMONS.
