We’re bringing beans, corn and wombok back into the veg boxes this week combining with local broccolini, cauliflower, lettuce, celeriac and parsnip to add some interest the boxes that have been heavy in root veg and brassicas for many weeks now.
** Sprout Bakery will be closed for two weeks for a mid Winter break, with Paul and Patricia returning at the end of next week but not in time for the delivery run.**
Eat well,
Graham
PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

Round BEANS and SWEET CORN return this week, albeit it may be just temporary given the cold weather up north - we’ll take it though.
CUCUMBER and EGGPLANT will both be disrupted due to the weather slowing down the growing season.
Closer to home we’ll have excellent BROCCOLINI from Bairnsdale, and great value too - $5.90. BROCCOLI from Mornington should be back this week also.
For the Mixed Choice boxes, you’ll have quarters of WOMBOK CABBAGE and halves of CELERY - both abundant right now.
New season BARBERA and SWEET GREY PUMPKIN will be available in the Vic boxes - coming from Gippsland's Koo Wee Rup.
ONIONS will be in short supply from now, so we will have more Colac LEEK in the boxes - and this week SPRING ONION from Pearcedale in the Vic boxes.
Daylesford POTATO have a week or two left in the season, then it’s Queensland and Tassie until February next year.
Darren from Vortex in Inverleigh is still picking his delicious CELERIAC, and from Pakenham PARSNIP is still arriving.
For fruit we have a new variety MANDARIN in the Afourer, which is similar to the more well known Imperial - as the season progresses, we’ll have Ellendale, Avana and Amigo varieties.
New season SUNDOWNER apples arriving soon also - this late season variety signals the nearing end to apple season, with the early varieties starting to soften.
For citrus, large sweet NAVEL ORANGES and tart TANGELO from Mildura are our picks for the boxes.
And also from Mildura large FUERTE AVOCADO will make an appearance in the larger Victorian boxes.
BANANA continues to be affected by weather up north, and coming down south in small amounts.
