Week 32 - Celery, Parsnip, Celeriac, Eggplant and Capsicum

Week 32 - Celery, Parsnip, Celeriac, Eggplant and Capsicum

We can’t go past the biodynamic brassicas of cauliflower and broccoli, so expect to continue to get plenty in the boxes along with more local root veg of parsnip, celeriac and beetroot.

It’s what's abundant and good value right now.

So too is the citrus from northern Vic. We're especially loving the navels, cara cara and the blood oranges.

Eat well,
Food Garden

PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

Biodynamic BROCCOLI is looking lovely with firm heads - for Vic produce try BROCCOLINI from Bairsndale.

Plenty of brassicas with CAULIFLOWER from up north and from Mildura, and green CABBAGE from Colac.

RED CABBAGE returns, and we will still have WOMBOK coming down from Queensland growers.

From Inverleigh large biodynamic PARSNIP in the veg boxes.

For leafy greens in the boxes, we will be including halves of CELERY and 100g bags of baby SPINACH and SALAD MIX from Yarra Valley.

We’re finished with Daylesford now, so no more spuds for the Vic boxes until next year - this week the Mixed Choice will have DESIREE potato variety from Bundaberg.

From up north we have small amounts of TOMATO, CAPSICUM and EGGPLANT to include - we’re still a long way from the local season for these.

ORANGES from Mildura are having a bumper season, and still eating excellent. For the boxes we’ll also have BLOOD ORANGES from Red Cliffs.

And I dont want to speak too early, but we’re hopeful of seeing some delicious STRAWBERRIES this week.
