Week 35 - Sweet Corn, Celery, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Zucchini, Gold Beetroot and Kohlrabi

Week 35 - Sweet Corn, Celery, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Zucchini, Gold Beetroot and Kohlrabi

A little taste of summer in the boxes this week - with sweet corn, bullhorn capsicum and celery from up north.

Vic boxes have a new harvest of kohlrabi and gold beetroot.

And sooo much broccoli and cauliflower for brassica lovers.

Eat well,
Graham

PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

For greens in this week's boxes, we have CELERY halves, bunches of KALE from Labertouche and a mix of CHINESE GREENS from Mornington (Choi Sum or Gai Lan)

Nice SWEET CORN is back this week, with some more produce coming from up north. We’re hoping to see some BULLHORN CAPSICUM also.

Plenty of great value BROCCOLI from down the Peninsula, and loads of CAULIFLOWER again for the boxes (taking a break from Cabbage though).

From Swan Hill a new pick of GOLD BEETROOT with leaves and KOHLRABI for the Vic boxes.

Such great value for ZUCCHINI these past few weeks. We’ve been able to include plenty in the veg boxes most weeks.

Local POTATO season is looking to be an extended one, with Adam letting us know his Sebago and Dutch Cream should be available for another month at least. That's three months longer than usual.

For fruit, expect plenty of Afourer MANDARINS in the boxes, along with our favourite CARA CARA oranges from Mildura and LADY WILLIAMS apples from Red Hill.

A new pick of biodynamic GOLDEN DELICIOUS from Red Hill are back this week, and we’re expecting FUJI to be finished soon.

BANANA will not be in the boxes until we can consistently ripen them up more - they've been a bit more backwards than we’d like. Hopefully this warmer week will help.

FUERTE AVOCADO continues - these delicious smooth avocados are grown near Mildura. What a treat to have Victorian avocadoes through Winter.
