More round BEANS from up north, and pretty good value for this early in the season.
Locally the Daylesford SNOW PEAS have finished, and now we have some from Dalmore near Pakenham. Still expecting shelling PEAS from Mildura too.
The local BROAD BEANS season has yet to start, so we are still taking them from Colac and Swan Hill.
New CAULIFLOWER from Silvan on the outskirts of Melbourne will start this week, and will be in the boxes. Along with BROCCOLI from down Pakenham and Mornington way.
Greens for the boxes will be BOK CHOY and BABY COS LETTUCE from the Peninsula.
Labertouche TOMATO from Gippsland is starting to get going with these warmer weeks, and so too their LEBANESE CUCUMBER, both of which will be in the boxes.
Still a bit of wait for the Gippsland summers CAPSICUM and EGGPLANT though.
New season stone fruit is on its way, with NECTARINES starting this week.
Shepparton AVOCADO will be in the boxes once again, as we are restricted to Victorian apples, grapefruit and oranges this time of year.
New season Bullarto STRAWBERRIES will be $4.90 a punnet once again this week.
Apples for the boxes will be LADY WILLIAMS from Red Hill (which are starting to slow down), and Oranges will be new season VALENCIA from Mildura.
