Also new season for yellow and green BULLHORN CAPSICUMS - these will be in the mixed choice boxes for the week.
CAULIFLOWER from Silvan and BROCCOLINI from Bairnsdale continue to be a staple of the boxes, whilst we wait for the summer veg to come on.
Small amount of EGGPLANT from up north is coming through, and by next week we should have SWEET CORN back again.
In the meantime, LEBANESE CUCUMBER from biodynamic growers near Geelong have started, and so has Darrens SNOW PEAS from the same paddocks. Abundance of snow peas around and excellent value.
For greens we’ll have Colac BOK CHOY in the Vic boxes, SPRING ONION and SPINACH, and from Labertouche more delightful BABY COS LETTUCE.
New season for DAIKON RADISH from Colac - these will be in the Vic boxes for the week. BEETROOT with leaves has started in earnest again.
And a new pick of Mildura CARROTS means they’re back in the Vic boxes.
Biodynamic APRICOT from near Shepparton are the favourite of the stone fruit. APPLES starting to slow and soften up - we have some Gala from Tassie and Golden Delicious from Red Hill for the veg boxes.
From Swan Hill, the seedless Valencia ORANGES are still eating extremely well.
STRAWBERRIES from Daylesford should be back this week, along with Vic BLACKBERRIES and new season RASPBERRIES.
