Week 9 - Corella Pears, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Ruby Seedless Grapes, Red Candy Plums and Tiger Watermelon

First week of autumn brings better summer weather than we've had in a little while, and hopefully summer produce responds in kind with a late season.

Still, we’re seeing plenty of autumn fruits with new season pears and apples arriving from Shepparton, Euroa and Red Hill.

Eat well,
Graham

PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

A little sunshine and we get a little more redness in the CAPSICUMS - a new crop of pimento, bullhorns and multi-coloured capsicums coming up from Koo Wee Rup for this week's veg boxes.

We’re still waiting to confirm if yellow and red BULLHORN capsicums will be available.

Greens for the week from Colac will be tender bunches of PAK CHOY and from Labertouche, BABY COS LETTUCE.

ICEBERG LETTUCE should be back this week (Mornington) and we should see OAK LETTUCE return in the next week or two.

From the Geelong area, new season biodynamic RED ONIONS are being picked for the Victorian boxes.

PUMPKIN is all Victorian now, with new harvest of Jap and Butternut both from Mildura.

SWEET CORN slowing down, but still 2 for $4 - in this week's boxes from Gippsland.

Ronald’s picking Grosse Lisse TOMATO and we’ll top up with some from Gippsland and Inverleigh.

Small amount of BROCCOLI from Vic growers - not usually around this time of year (which explains the prices).

Also a small pick of green CABBAGE from Koo Wee Rup.

For fruit, new season biodynamic GOLDEN DELICIOUS and GRANNY SMITH apples from Euroa and Shepparton respectively.

BANANA for the boxes will be singles rather than bunches, for a better deal.

PEAR varieties are Beurre Bosc, Williams and Corella from biodynamic orchards in Merrigum - and for boxes we’ll have a small amount of little Josephine from Shepparton.

ROCKMELON weren’t ready for picking last week - hoping for them this week after a few days of heat back to back.

RUBY SEEDLESS grapes are excellent value, WATERMELON is just $2.20kg.

And STRAWBERRIES from Bullarto are just 2 for $11 again for the week.
