We’re moving more into that “in-between time” when seasons cross over, and there can be gaps. We still have some summer produce coming through, but much is finishing and it's much too early for the winter season to start.
For example, we’re still seeing strawberries from Bullarto - at the same time they are just about to pick the first of the potato.
And capsicums are still being picked in Gippsland, whilst across the bay in Colac they are picking turnip - makes for nice mixes in the boxes 🙂
Eat well,
Graham
PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

The VICTORIAN Food Box contains a selection of:
carrots, potato, leek, pumpkin, sweet corn, beetroot, beans, capsicum, tomato, cabbage, broccoli, zucchini, fennel, kale, spinach, lettuce, apples, plums, pears, grapes

PIMENTO CAPSICUM from Koo Wee Rup will be in the boxes, as the Red Capsicum slows. BEANS from Gippsland are also slowing, although there may be a little from Shepparton growers.
One more week of biodynamic CHATS, and then we should see POTATO from Bullarto start.
A break from sweet potato and potato in the boxes, and replaced with brown ONIONS from up north.
We missed out on green CABBAGE last week with our grower finished early - a new grower near Pakenham should have enough for orders and boxes.
Biodynamic BROCCOLI from up north will be our preferred pick, with a small amount from the Peninsula for the Vic boxes.
For greens we have a new pick of SPINACH bunches and green curly KALE from Colac.
For fruit, new season biodynamic JONATHON APPLES from Red Hill is our pick of the week - get them fresh, as they soften in storage much quicker than other varieties.
Also from Red Hill, we have JUICING APPLES return to the Juice Box and available for $3.50kg - the first variety will be Golden Delicious.
It’s been a nice season for PLUMS, and we still have September Candy from biodynamic orchards near Shepparton.
And plenty of PEARS - both Packham and Beurre Bosc varieties eating deliciously.
New season citrus are expected any day now - with TANGELO and LEMONS the first (already are seeing RED GRAPEFRUIT).
STRAWBERRIES have a little more life in them, before Adam needs the shed for the potato season.
AVOCADO will have a break for a couple of weeks, but should see them back once Queensland growers start.
And closer to home, new season RHUBARB from Colac is being picked to go with your stewed QUINCE from Swan Hill.
