Some new season produce for the Victorian boxes this week with the arrival of pumpkin, red onions, spuds, plums and pears.
A couple weeks of warmth makes all the difference to the selection in the seasonal boxes.
Eat well,
Graham
PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

New season Victorian spuds are arriving - last week we brought in NICOLA from Thorpdale for the Vic boxes. This week we have Ronalds KIPFLERS - grown out near Campbelltown, these are a new potato, grown in small batches and just available for the next couple of weeks.
We’ll also have SEBAGO and DUTCH CREAM from up north, and a small amount of PONTIAC for the boxes.
We should also see SWEET POTATO returning to us this week - both the gold and red varieties.
Excellent value for BABY BROCCOLI bunches from Bairnsdale (say that 10 times quickly) - expect to see in most of the boxes.
And now for a third try - SWEET CORN for the boxes - we’ve been assured it will be here this week (the flood waters have receded) - but we’ll definitely know by Tuesday morning if there will be further delays.
Biodynamic CUCUMBER and TOMATO from Inverleigh have been excellent, and now small ROMA TOMATO from Swan Hill also arrives. Expect to see more of Darrens produce from Inverleigh over the next few months - starting with EGGPLANT coming soon.
Adams CARROTS at Bullarto are going well, looking to be another good season after last year's bumper crop - expect to see them in your boxes near the end of February. At the moment we have a nice batch from the Rodowsky family in Silvan in Melbourne's east.
New season Victorian RED ONIONS will be in the boxes, and new season JAP PUMPKIN from Mildura will also appear in the Victorian boxes.
For brassicas, RED CABBAGE from Pakenham and green curly KALE from Baxter are great value.
For greens, OAK LETTUCE from Monbulk and BABY COS LETTUCE from the Peninsula are our two picks.
For fruit, new season GRAPES start off from Mildura, with the red FLAME SEEDLESS variety.
Biodynamic NASHI PEARS are early this year - we’ll have a small amount, along with some biodynamic CLAPP PEARS from Majestic Park.
For stone fruit, we are moving into PLUM season, as other stone fruits finish up - we have two varieties this week, with Mariposa Blood plum and the sweet Santa Rosa.
For berries, BLUEBERRIES from Tassie arrive and STRAWBERRIES from Daylesford continue.
