The biodynamic cauliflower is enjoying an excellent start to the season, whilst local broccoli is having a slow week. Greens will be chinese broccoli (gai lan), just to get another brassica in the boxes 🙂
Vic boxes will be heavier on greens with kale, lettuce and gai lan, whereas the Mixed Choice will include carrots, sweet potato, corn, beans, tomato from up north.
** Sprout Bakery will be closed again for this week for a mid Winter break, with Paul and Patricia returning for deliveries next week.**
Eat well,
Graham
PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

Local BROCCOLI from Mornington will be short again this week, so we are bringing in CHINESE BROCCOLI (Gai Lan) as the greens for the boxes.
Will have plenty of BROCCOLI from biodynamic growers Mt Whitestone up north, along with their excellent dense CAULIFLOWER.
Local growers are still focussing on root veg, with PARSNIP from Pakenham and biodynamic CELERIAC from Inverleigh included in most veg boxes this week.
New season DAIKON RADISH from Colac will be in the Vics, and Colac LEEK will replace onions for another week.
Most likely the last week for Bullarto POTATO before we move north - these will be Adams LARGE SEBAGO and DUTCH CREAM in the boxes.
From up north, we have excellent value for BEANS and TOMATO - hoping the same transport disruptions of the past couple of weeks don't thwart us again and we can include them in the boxes.
Nice SWEET CORN in the boxes again this week - nice price too for this time of year.
For fruit, we have nice BLOOD ORANGES at about half the price they were at the start of the season.
MANDARINS are still eating well, as we move into new varieties late in the season.
BANANA are hopefully back in the veg boxes this week, and we should see more available in the next couple of weeks, and the price coming back too hopefully.
FUJI APPLES are our preference for the boxes - small size from biodynamic orchards in Red Hill.
AVOCADO are also good value with large Fuerte from Mildura (2 for $7), and small Hass from up north (4 for $4).
