The boxes are heavy on the leafy greens in the Vics this week, with salad veg of radish, mixed salad and fennel featuring - along with new season asparagus and avana mandarins.

Mixed choice will have your spring root veg of parsnip and sweet potato, as well seasonal value in broccolini and cauliflower.

THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

New season Gippsland ASPARAGUS should get going from here, and should appear in more boxes in the next week or two - in the larger Vic boxes this week.

BROAD BEANS have a few more weeks, with the local crop finished, and this harvest coming from Mildura.

For the Mixed Choice boxes, expect round BEANS in the larger boxes.

Great value on bunches of Bairnsdale BROCCOLINI - $4.50 a bunch is excellent - and the warmer week will make it a short special I suspect.

Brassicas are not a huge fan of hot days, but for now we have small CAULIFLOWER from Baxter in the Vic boxes, and nice halves of Queensland caulis in the other boxes.

FENNEL are loving the warm weather and have put on some size for this week. Will go well with LETTUCE and MIXED SALAD in the boxes - along with RADISH from Joes Garden at Ceres.

Other greens for the boxes will be green curly KALE $4.90 bunch - on special from Vic growers this week.

For root veg, SWEET POTATO and PARSNIP from up near Bundaberg - and CARROTS are back in price too.

For fruit we have FUJI APPLES and NAVEL ORANGES in the boxes; small HASS AVOCADO return to the Vic boxes and new season AVANA MANDARINS from Mildura feature heavily.

CORELLA PEARS are a nice return also.

A few more weeks for MANGO and the first of the stone fruit.
