Pumpkin, red cabbage and broccolini all making appearances in this week's boxes, as we start to see more leafy greens and new season snow peas, fennel and asparagus arriving.

And we’ll soon see kohlrabi, swede and parsnip all finishing up.

THIS WEEKS PRODUCE

In absence of local broccoli we’ll have BROCCOLINI from Bairnsdale in the boxes.

Gippsland ASPARAGUS from Koo Wee Rup is having a slow start to the season, and we’re still yet to see other growers to arrive with significant crops - another warm week may get things moving.

SNOW PEAS from Bairnsdale is some new season veg welcomed to the veg boxes, and an early taste of the changing seasons.

Small amount of CAULIFLOWER from down the Peninsula, most still coming from up north. So too RED CABBAGE which is coming from excellent biodynamic growers in Queensland. Green cabbage another couple of weeks away.

ROCKET returns after a considerable absence, and some quality issues.

We’d planned to have SWEET CORN in the boxes last week, but it did not eventuate - this week we have a few growers to choose from so more confident it will be available.

KOHLRABI season is finishing, with this week likely the last; and SWEDE from Colac soon finishing also, although a couple more weeks at least.

SWEET POTATO also having a slow period - not sure if we’ll have any this week. In the boxes we’ll be including PUMPKIN instead, with some early season crop from northern growers.

For fruit, APPLES in the boxes will be “Kalie” variety from biodynamic orchards in Red Hill.

Early signs of the new stone fruit season with Shepparton NECTARINES; and PEACHES soon to follow.

BLUEBERRIES from down south east of Melbourne also starting from this week.
