New tomato season starts this week with Gippsland growers starting picking from their polytunnels; plus a small amount of lebanese cucumber.
Peas and zucchini from Mildura and Snow peas from Daylesford mean we’re starting to see the early signs of summer harvest.
As for the rest of Vic produce, broccoli and fennel are excellent value this week - and in plenty of boxes.
Eat well,
Graham
PS. Choose from one of our box selection, and let us know your “no list”; or make one of your own by choosing the vegetables and fruit you prefer.

From Pakenham, this week's BROCCOLI are smaller heads and pretty good value compared to other weeks, so we’re putting extra in the boxes this week.
RED CABBAGE from Koo Wee Rup for the Victorian boxes - green cabbage still a few weeks away.
New season Vic TOMATO from Labertouche starting this week - only in small amounts but hopefully enough for the Vic boxes. Tomatoes in other boxes are from South Australia.
ZUCCHINI from Mildura has kicked off the season pretty strong - plenty in the boxes. So too Gippsland FENNEL, which is abundant and excellent value right now.
LETTUCE for the boxes will be Iceberg from Mornington and Mixed Salad from Yarra Valley.
Other greens for the boxes will be bunch SPINACH from Pearcedale and KALE from Gippsland.
Biodynamic SHELLING PEAS should be available this week, along with BEANS and (maybe) SNOW PEAS from Daylesford.
New season PURPLE GARLIC starts this week too - coming from NSW, with local season starting in a few weeks. And RADISH from Mornington should be back (fingers crossed).
New season stone fruit include APRICOT from Mildura and NECTARINES from Shepparton.
BANANA is recovering with better weather up north, and back in price for the past few weeks.
AVOCADO special finished for now whilst we enter a slight lull in the harvest.
Plenty of citrus still, with new season VALENCIA soon to arrive, and AVANA MANDARINS from Mildura still good eating.
And PINK GRAPEFRUIT excellent eating - expect in the Victorian boxes.
