Boxes will have more of a salad theme in them this week, along with new season root veg that are coming through. We’ve got carrots from Wombat Organics in Bullarto starting, swede from Colac and biodynamic beetroot from Geelong.
And for you salads, new season capsicum, oak lettuce, biodynamic tomato and great value sweet corn.
Be sure to check out the recipes using your red sweet potato, local spuds and swede.
Eat well,
Graham

CARROTS from Bullarto kick off their season this week, and DUTCH CREAM from Ronald in Campbelltown are top class. SWEDE from Colac will sneak in early too.
For salads we’ll have large quarters of RED CABBAGE from the Pakenham area and OAK LETTUCE from Monbulk - the smaller boxes will have bags of MIXED SALAD instead.
New season Victorian CAPSICUM are just starting off with green variety in the Vic boxes; Mixed Choice boxes will have YELLOW CAPSICUM from up north.
And we should see biodynamic RED CAPSICUM from Mildura arrive very soon.
BROCCOLI has had an excellent run, and will inevitably slow over the next few weeks before starting up a new season in the middle of Autumn. For now we’ll continue including in the boxes whilst the value is so good.
Biodynamic TOMATO and ZUCCHINI from Inverleigh have been consistently excellent all season, and now they are even better value - so expect plenty in the boxes.
New season RED SWEET POTATO is back for fluffy baking in your meals (see this week's recipe).
From the Peninsula, a new harvest of SWEET CORN replace our northern growers. And from Bairnsdale we’re expecting BEANS to be finished.
For fruit, a new grower from Shepparton is picking nice sized NASHI PEARS with an orange blush - delicious eating.
The pick of the PLUMS is the Red Candy (small and red) and Queen Garnett (large and dark purple) varieties.
And finally, new season biodynamic sweet SULTANA GRAPES are just $3.50 a bag - you’ll find them in the Vic boxes.
