Searching for seasonal value this week? Try the beans from Shepparton, red capsicum from Gippsland, zucchini from Mildura - and in fruit, banana, pears and apples all dropped in price. Expect plenty of the above in the veg boxes this week.
Summer may be fading, but the slow start to the season mean we have a late finish - and still plenty of capsicum, tomato and sweet corn for you. For seasonal value, also check out beans, lettuce, zucchini and this weeks bananas.
For peak season value on organic produce, right now tomato, zucchini, broccoli, kale, capsicum, sweet corn, grapes and plums are all fairing well, and our focus for the boxes. New season fennel, eggplant and yellow squash are what's new for the week.
Peak season produce means more veg in the boxes this week, with capsicum, baby carrots, field tomato, plums all offering excellent value.
More and more root veg slipping into the boxes each week, but still plenty of summer tomato, zucchini and sweet corn from Vic growers.
Boxes will have more of a salad theme in them this week, along with new season root veg that are coming through. We’ve got carrots from Wombat Organics in Bullarto starting, swede from Colac and biodynamic beetroot from Geelong.
You’ll find a blend of local spuds, brassicas, kale and spinach, new season beans, ripe biodynamic tomato and green nashi all in this week's boxes.
New season biodynamic apples and pears are joining the plums and grapes coming from all around Victoria at the moment.
Boxes will be stacked with sweet corn, lettuce, greens, broccoli, beans and the delicious biodynamic summer produce from down Inverleigh way.
