What's in Season

A selection of new veg starts this week, with daikon, celeriac and wombok all arriving together. Expect plenty of brassicas and root veg in the boxes, with the Mixed Choice having a salad-twist with corn, cucumber and baby cos lettuce. For good value, can’t beat cauliflower, celery, kale, and parsnip right now.

Both sides of the bay feature in the boxes this week - with greens from Colac, Koo Wee Rup and Monbulk. Whilst brassicas are from Bairnsdale and root veg from Daylesford, Inverleigh and Swan Hill.

Plenty of biodynamic veg for you this week - we routinely find biodynamic grown produce superior in flavour, quality and lasting freshness. Which is why we prioritise bd growers over organic ones - we’ll even prioritise biodynamic over local.

Crisp mornings and clear days are bringing the best of early Winter. Fresh leafy greens, bountiful root vegetables and brassicas, and nice late flush of Vic beans, tomato and capsicum.

These mild nights are keeping the beans and strawberries happy - both are having an extending Vic season. But the root veg aren't holding back - there’s plenty with swede, parsnip, kohlrabi, and of course local carrots and spuds - all appearing in this week's boxes.

This week new season treats of persimmon, red anjou pears, spring onion and late season beans. We’ll give them all a run in this week's veg boxes. Along with cool season favourites of parsnip, cabbage, fennel and sweet potato.

A nice mix of root veg, brassicas and winter greens in this week's boxes - parsnip, swede, dutch cream spuds, broccoli, cauli, fennel and spinach all feature.

BROCCOLI from Black Gold in Koo Wee Rup has been superb, and now it is even better value as their cool weather season gets going. Expect plenty in the boxes. Not so much CAULIFLOWER coming, with a small pick from Gippsland and a dribble from further north.

Summer produce of tomato, cucumber and eggplant continues to be replaced with the cooler seasons produce.
